If there is a bumper year that experienced new Smartphone launches, it has to be 2015. That aside, more phones are yet to be launched while others such as iPhone 6 are still very fresh in the market. Here is a roundup of the best new smartphones that are arriving in the UK market for late 2015 and early 2016.
Apple iPhone 6S
Every Apple device enthusiast had a reason to smile as Apple unveiled their new range of Smartphone on September 9th, IPhone 6s and was made available for pre-order as from September 12th. iPhone 6S was long awaited by everyone including Android enthusiasts. The new iPhone has some important changes to take note of including elegant colour options and camera features. Apple has included Rose Gold as part of the colour options which include the previous colours of iPhone 6. The trendy Smartphone running iOS 9 has a 12MP iSight camera which supports 4K class video recording. The device also has Live Photo which is a fun new feature enabling you to record still images and creates a video.
The phone also has 3D Touch Screen which can differentiate a light touch from a heavy tap, but is rather similar to its predecessor, having a 4.7” Retina HD screen equipped with 326ppi. It also has a Touch ID finger print scanner that is twice faster, powered by an A9 processor with a built M9 motion co-processor which is always on. Apple stated that iPhone 6S can handle CPU tasks 80% faster while GPU tasks are handled 90% faster.
Apple iPhone 6S Plus
iPhone 6S Plus was also announced alongside iPhone 6S on September 9th. It was also available for pre-order as from September 12th and will go on sale as from September 25th. This elegant piece of technology is rather similar to iPhone 6S, with the only difference coming in terms of screen size, dimension and weight. iPhone 6S Plus has a higher resolution screen of 5.5”, a 158.2 by 77.9 by 7.3mm dimension and a weight of 192g. Its battery capacity is also higher. It basically has similar features as iPhone 6S, meaning an A9 processor, 12MP iSight camera with Live Photo enabled, 3D Touch Screen with Retina Flash and a twice as fast new Touch ID fingerprint scanner.
Google Nexus 5
The range of Nexus smartphones from Google have always been popular, although 2014 Nexus 6 didn’t end up quite well as it received quite a number of criticism from users. Rumors running around claim that the new Nexus will not only feature Nexus 5, but also Nexus 6. This therefore means that there will be something better for you, just in case Nexus 5 doesn’t amaze you.
Nexus 5 will be made by LG and will feature a sleek metal body design, a 5.2 “ large full HD P-OLED screen, Snapdragon 620 CPU from Qualcomm, rear finger print scanner, 13MP and 4MP rear and front cameras respectively, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage and a USB Type-C charger. It will be equipped with front facing speakers. Google Nexus 5 will run Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
HTC One M10
HTC One M9 experienced poor sales and now rumor has it that HTC is looking forward to launching its successor, HTC One M10. The launch is expected to take place on October 2015 with a different naming scheme. It is perceived that the naming schemes could be HTC 02 or HTC Two or HTC A9. HTC has a major area where it lags behind its competitors, which is the screen. HTC claims that users should expect a whole different level of improvements plus general enhancements on performance.
Huawei Nexus 6
Google Nexus 5 is expected to come from LG and now expect to see Google Nexus 6 from Huawei. It is rumored to have plenty of excellent features including a metal body, 5.7” Quad HD AMOLED screen, Snapdragon 820 processor from Qualcomm, a rear camera of 21MP resolution and a wireless charging system. Nexus 6 will be powered by Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Its announcement is expected in mid-October and be made available for sale as from November 2015.
